Join us on a new photographic journey through the Indian Himalayan regions of Ladakh and Zanskar, combining dramatic mountain landscapes with portraits of local people. From Delhi, we fly to Leh and acclimatise in Nimmu, then drive to Kargil and Drass, whose bazaars are busy with Kashmiri traders. In the Suru Valley, we photograph the peaks of Nun and Kun before reaching Padum, in remote Zanskar, to visit Sani and Karsha monasteries. We then cross the Sirsir La at around 4,800m to Temisgang and Tia. In Leh, we explore the palace, bazaar and old town, ending at Tsemo gompa for golden light. Crossing the Chang La via Chemrey Monastery, we reach Pangong Lake and stay on the lakeshore for sunset and sunrise, before a free day back in Leh. Ashfaq Rah, a Kashmiri photographer and second-generation tour operator, leads the tour with a deep understanding of the region’s culture and traditions.
