Northern Kenya - The Ultimate Photo Tour.

Join us on an extraordinary photographic adventure through the cradle of mankind.

Take a break from Asia and join us on a brand new photographic adventure through the diverse landscapes of Northern Kenya, offering a perfect blend of iconic wildlife, remote tribal cultures, and dramatic natural beauty. We have designed this exclusive tour for photography enthusiasts who want to capture both the magnificent wildlife and the fascinating indigenous people of this remarkable region, while immersing themselves in the country’s rich culture.

Starting in bustling Nairobi, we begin our photographic odyssey with a visit to Hell's Gate National Park, where we'll enjoy its distinctive volcanic terrain and capture the dramatic gorge landscapes that have inspired countless artists, as well as providing inspiration for Disney's "The Lion King". The park's towering cliffs, steaming geysers, and rugged rock formations provide spectacular compositional opportunities against the vast African sky.

We'll then explore the tranquil waters of Lake Naivasha with an early sunrise boat ride, providing perfect opportunities for bird photography in the soft, golden morning light. The lake's papyrus-fringed shores teem with avian life, offering intimate encounters with African Fish Eagles, Kingfishers, and countless waterbirds reflected in the mirror-like surface as the calm morning water creates perfect reflections for dramatic compositions.

From there, we move northward to Lake Nakuru National Park, renowned for its extraordinary diversity of birdlife including majestic White Pelicans, graceful Egrets, and flocks of flamingo creating pink ribbons across the alkaline waters. The park also offers rare chances to photograph the endangered white rhino in their natural habitat and the elegant Rothschild giraffe silhouetted against the backdrop of the shallow soda lake's mineral-rich shores.

We continue deeper into Kenya's remote northern territories, where we'll document the daily lives and rich cultural heritage of four distinct tribal communities. We'll visit the resilient Turkana people along the shores of Lake Turkana, the world's largest permanent desert lake, photographing their traditional fishing practices, intricate beadwork, and distinctive ceremonial adornments passed down through generations. In the sacred heartland around Mount Ngiro, we'll photograph the Samburu people in their ancestral territory, documenting their pastoral traditions and the deep spiritual connection to the landscape they believe to be their origin point.

We'll spend time with the El Molo, Kenya's smallest tribe - and at risk of cultural extinction - capturing their unique fishing culture and ancient traditions that have sustained them for centuries beside the jade-coloured waters. The journey takes us through the hauntingly beautiful Chalbi Desert to meet the proud Rendile people, where we'll document their fascinating camel-based pastoral culture and photograph the traditional singing wells where both wildlife and domestic animals gather to drink in harmonious coexistence. Throughout this remote and rarely visited region, we'll capture the striking landscapes of sacred Mount Ngiro and Mount Kulal dramatically overlooking the vast expanse of Lake Turkana, their ancient volcanic peaks creating stunning silhouettes at dawn and dusk.

Our expedition culminates in Samburu National Reserve, where we'll focus on wildlife photography of various species that are unique to northern Kenya - the distinctively patterned Reticulated Giraffe, the endangered Grevy's Zebra with its narrow stripes, the hardy Beisa Oryx, and the magnificent blue-necked Somali Ostrich. Carefully timed morning and afternoon game drives maximise opportunities for capturing elusive predators like leopards, lions, and cheetahs in optimal light conditions.

This is a great opportunity to photograph one of Africa's most authentic regions, where ancient tribal cultures thrive in dramatic landscapes alongside unique wildlife. We balance cultural immersion with extraordinary natural beauty, creating a unique experience unlike any other in our portfolio. The journey will be led by Maciej Radomski, a seasoned photographer with 30 years of experience who has spent more than 15 years organising and leading photography expeditions in East Africa and Asia.

The tour is suited to photographers of all skill levels, with an optional pre-tour technical and aesthetic workshop for those who may be new to travel photography or want to brush up on their camera skills. We are still working on the tour dates, with an initial research tour in August 2025 and the main tour planned for Q1 2026 so please get in touch for more details of this exciting new opportunity or to register your potential interest in the tour.
